Better late than never

In first grade, I corrected my teacher about the Apollo program, so the space race has always been a passion of mine. I had but the meager gleanings of Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz in the 70's, and can still remember exactly where I was when I heard that Challenger blew up (left hand turn lane on Mill, about to westbound on Southern).

I'd always wondered about the idea behind the shuttle. It didn't seem cheap nor easy, and now NASA seems to agree.

Get NASA out of the way and let private industry go at it. Turn NASA into the FAA of space.
