Devastating
"What bothers me is that I haven't seen one recent story dedicated to the heroism of our troops given such consistent prominence in The Times or other leading papers. Nor have I read a front-page headline about a military medal ceremony and the story behind it, although every year I see front-page treatment in The Times of who wins the Oscars...Whose values dictate that winning a Navy Cross is less important than a Pulitzer, an Oscar or a PEN award?"Ouch.

When I watch a documentary like Lima Company or read about what our troops are doing, I am inspired.
When I see anything entertainment-related on the "news" or in other media outlets (yes, even the internet) I want to begin vomiting.
It's like there are two worlds that are not even in the same solar system. The thing is, the glitterati of our media age don't look too good compared to the servicemen and women who wear the uniform. Like fools, "celebrities" just don't have a clue how utterly vapid they appear. I don't think I am the only person to notice this either...
